Republic of Texas Biker Rally

Jun 10th, 2010 through Jun 13th, 2010

Laying claim to the Biggest Biker Rally in Texas and the peoples choice"Best in Texas", the Republic of Texas Biker Rally has been held since 1994. This rally takes place the first weekend after Memorial Day, starting on Thursday. Registered attendence is around 40,000, but some of the events, like the biker street party draw well over 150,000. 2006 saw the annual Parade to the Capitol enter the Guinness World Record book as the largest motorcycle parade ever. And the founders are not ready to stop there!

While the Republic of Texas Biker Rally officially kicks off at 8:00 am on Thursday and ends at noon on Sunday, don't plan your vacation strictly on those dates and times. Austin welcomes bikers for the weekend early, and gives them a good sendoff late. The Wednesday before the Republic of Texas Biker Rally starts, there is a bikers breakfast, featuring breakfast tacos and live music. And Sunday night features a post-rally concert. So come early, and plan on staying a while!

Typical Events at the Republic of Texas Biker Rally

The Republic of Texas Biker Rally includes numerous events every year. Some of the best custom motorcycle builders, vendors, and manufacturers attend. A partial list of events is provided here, but I highly recommend going to the official website, listed below, to get a detailed listing as well as a schedule.

  • Big Texas Chop-Off Biker Buildoff
  • Guinness World Record breaking motorcycle parade to the Capitol
  • Biker street party on Congress Avenue
  • Live music throughout the event, at numerous locations
  • Vendors - for about anything a biker would want
  • Manufacturer displays

Motorcycle related laws to know while attending Republic of Texas Biker Rally

One of the common complaints when returning from a major motorcycle rally is about the law being rampant, and giving tickets out for every minor infraction. While we cannot stop all tickets from being given, some of those tickets are due to you, the attendee, not being aware of some of the standard laws in the state. Below are some of the most common laws for Texas. Be aware, though, that many rally locations have recently passed local ordinances that may be more strict than the state law. For example, a new noise ordinance was passed in Myrtle Beach just in time for the 2005 Fall Rally. I make every effort to keep this information up to date, but you may want to research them more just prior to going to an event, just in case they have changed.
