Salute to American Veterans Motorcycle Rally
Aug 15th, 2008 through Aug 17th, 2008
After returning from the European Theater after World War II, many American veterans chose to continue riding the motorcycle they had come to love and trust during war. From this, the biker culture we now know sprung. It is only fitting that a motorcycle rally is used to honor our veterans, given this beginning. But you do not have to be a biker to attend the Salute to American Veterans Motorcycle Rally, nor do you have to be an American veteran.
2007 sees a change in location for the Salute to American Veterans Motorcycle Rally. Long known as the Cripple Creek motorcycle rally, it seems that some of the political heads in Cripple Creek decided it was too much motorcycle and not enough about the veteran. So, when the commitment to renew the event did not come, the promoters quickly agreed with the town of Winter Park, Colorado to move the event there. Whether the Cripple Creek event was eventually committed to or not is now mute, the move was committed to. For that the biker can be happy, though, because the riding into and around Winter Park is awesome!
Events at the Salute to American Veterans Motorcycle Rally remain unchanged with the move. Retired military continue to have their day of recognition, the POW/MIA recognition ride is still celebrated, military fly-overs will still occur. This motorcycle rally will continue to celebrate those who sacrificed so much for the American people to enjoy the freedom they take for granted. Regardless of what some in Cripple Creek felt, the Salute to American Veterans Motorcycle Rally is all about the American veteran, those who served in the past, and those who continue to serve us today. But it is still a motorcycle rally, with all that we have come to expect from major rallies. The vendors are there, as well as non-stop entertainment, a ride-in bike show, a tattoo contest, and much more.
So make your plans to attend the Salute to American Veterans Motorcycle Rally. It should be an experience you will remember and treasure. Hope to see you there soon!

Motorcycle related laws to know while attending Salute to American Veterans Motorcycle Rally
One of the common complaints when returning from a major motorcycle rally is about the law being rampant, and giving tickets out for every minor infraction. While we cannot stop all tickets from being given, some of those tickets are due to you, the attendee, not being aware of some of the standard laws in the state. Below are some of the most common laws for Colorado. Be aware, though, that many rally locations have recently passed local ordinances that may be more strict than the state law. For example, a new noise ordinance was passed in Myrtle Beach just in time for the 2005 Fall Rally. I make every effort to keep this information up to date, but you may want to research them more just prior to going to an event, just in case they have changed.
